NSFW: There are a total of 753 black and white and color photographs by Ryan McGinley in his new show, Yearbook. They are unframed and stuck directly to the wall in overlapping layers. All of the works are printed on vinyl, and were made between 2009 and 2014. The individual images are poster sized, and the entire installation is available as a single work (for $600,000), including physical and digital prints of every image on display. McGinley’s chosen subjects are fun-loving, Billyburg-type tattooed hipsters which turns YEARBOOK into a kind of downtown time capsule. This crowded “wallpapered” contained space is also perfect for a selfie. (Just be careful no naughty parts are showing!) YEARBOOK runs through October 12 at New York’s Team Gallery.
