Zsa Zsa Gabor, one of the famous Gabor sisters, just died over the weekend in Los Angeles. She was 99 and once proclaimed,
“I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man, I keep his house.”
Well, she didn’t keep this one. A desert home that once belonged to Gabor is on the market in Palm Springs. The 1,784-square-foot two-bed-two-bath was built in 1958, the height of her beauty and stardom.
An open, linear floor plan with views of the surrounding mountains and desert landscape can be seen through a wall of sliding glass doors. A separate, glass-enclosed guest house sits beside the kidney shaped pool, where Gabor may have spent many hours basking in the sun. That reminds me of a story…
Zsa Zsa was lounging poolside in L.A. years ago completely naked wearing only a large sun hat and heels when a new pool cleaner surprised her appearing at her back gate. The man exclaimed,
“I’m SO sorry Zsa Zsa…“
She replied,
“No, dahlink! It’s Eva!“
You can have this home for just $969,000 and repeat that story on me, for decades.
