This letter has been making the rounds on the internet lately. It is (supposedly) written by Joan Crawford complaining about Bette Davis’ (allegedly) offensive body odor, saying
“…I found myself gagging on several occasions…“
It’s dated August 11, 1962, so that WOULD have been during the filming of their film, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?. It’s addressed to “Bob”, (director Robert Aldrich?) Who knows? Could be a hoax, but if it’s real, it’ll surely show up in Ryan Murphy‘s Feuds about the filimg of Baby Jane. Crawford, played by Jessica Lange and Davis, played by Susan Sarandon will be chewing the scenery, no doubt.
