OK Go are masters of the viral music video. Upside Down and Inside Out was just released this morning they said on Facebook,
“What you are about to see is real. We shot this in zero gravity, in an actual plane, in the sky.”
The band teamed up with Russian airline S7 for the stunt and spent THREE WEEKS training and filming, doing 27 flights in total. S7 helped fund the project and the band was trained by ROSCOSMOS, Russia’s NASA equivalent. Singer Damian Kulash, Jr. said,
“It was nearly a decade ago that the world started buzzing about commercial space travel and exploration. When I heard about Virgin Galactic and Space X, it dawned on me that soon enough, people will be making art in space. So for years, we’ve been looking for the opportunity to make a weightless video.”
It’s pretty amazing. Watch.
