Ted Cruz is leading his fellow Cuban-American senator, Marco Rubio, in the polls, but he is throwing shade nonetheless. Rick Tyler, Cruz’s communications director, tweeted Tuesday.
“A Vote for Marco Rubio Is a Vote for Men’s High-Heeled Booties”
He linked to an article with that headline by New York Magazine’s fashion blog, The Cut. Vanity Fair also speculated where he gets his Chelsea boots, but Rubio’s campaign told Politico they were on the more modest end of spectrum. Florsheims. Similar ones to Rubio’s on the Florsheim website sell for around $100.
It all started with the tweet below from New York Times reporter Michael Barbaro, who first noticed Rubio’s boots Monday.
I dup up a few options; from an $85 pair on Zappos, to an $1800 pair by Tom Ford. But for the record, this isn’t about fashion choices or $$ for Rubio. He is 5’8″.
